About this role
Every fire truck we build ends up protecting a community. Your job is to make sure people see it, from the first weld to the day the department drives it home.
About Weis Fire & Safety
Weis Fire & Safety has been serving the fire service industry for more than 50 years. As a family-owned company, we’ve built our reputation by taking care of our customers, standing behind our products, and investing in our people.
We build fire apparatus and wildland trucks, design our patented Commander Series (Draft Commander®, Foam Commander®, and Hose Commander®), and supply the equipment firefighters rely on every day, from SCBA and thermal imaging cameras to rescue tools, hose, nozzles, turnout gear, and scene lighting.
Our customers are municipal fire departments, rural fire districts, industrial facilities, and safety professionals who count on us to help keep their people and communities safe.
About the Role
You’ll be the day-to-day voice of Weis Fire & Safety online. You’ll be on site at our production facility regularly, capturing photos and video of the apparatus we’re building and the people building them, and you’ll turn that into content that helps fire departments understand what we do and why it matters.
You’ll also own the growth of our social media channels: building our audience, increasing engagement, and using the results to keep getting better.
You’ll work closely with our Marketing Manager, our sales team, and our production crew to find the stories worth telling. This role is a great fit if you already have some professional experience and want real ownership.
What You’ll Do
Capture what we build
- Spend regular time on site on our production floor photographing and filming fire apparatus and wildland trucks throughout the build process
- Document finished trucks, final inspections, delivery days, product demonstrations, and Commander Series equipment in action
- Build and maintain an organized photo and video library that sales, recruiting, and leadership can use
- Coordinate with production so you know when key build milestones and deliveries are happening
Grow our channels
- Own our social media channels day to day: plan, write, design, schedule, and publish content
- Set and hit goals for follower growth, engagement, and reach on each platform
- Identify new channels and formats worth investing in (such as short-form video, YouTube, or reels) and build a following there
- Engage with the fire service community online: respond to comments and messages, connect with departments, and route questions or leads to the right person
- Track performance across channels and share monthly reports with clear takeaways and recommendations
Support sales and the business
- Build and manage a monthly content calendar that supports product launches, truck deliveries, trade shows, recruiting, and company news
- Write blog posts, delivery spotlights, customer stories, email newsletters, and website copy
- Work with our sales team to create content they can use with fire departments, like product one-pagers and social posts they can share
- Cover trade shows and fire service conferences on social media before, during, and after the show
- Keep our brand voice and look consistent everywhere we show up
- Help guide and review work from marketing interns
Who We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of professional experience in content, social media, or marketing (internships can count if you managed channels or content yourself)
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong photography and short-form video skills, with examples you can share
- A track record of growing a business or organization’s social media following and engagement
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Comfort with scheduling and analytics tools, and the ability to explain what the numbers mean
- Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design tools
- Good organization and the ability to juggle several projects without dropping details
- You’d rather be out on the floor getting the shot than waiting for someone to send you photos
Nice to Have
- Experience in the fire service, public safety, or with first responder audiences
- Experience marketing to business or government customers (B2B), or in manufacturing or technical industries
- Video editing skills (Premiere, CapCut, or similar) and drone photography experience
- Experience with paid social ads, email platforms, or website content management systems
- Basic SEO knowledge
Working Conditions
This role includes regular time on our production floor. You’ll follow our safety rules and wear required protective equipment while on site, and you should be comfortable standing, walking, and working around large vehicles and equipment for extended periods. Occasional travel to trade shows, customer deliveries, and events, including some evenings and weekends, is part of the job.
Why Join Weis
- Competitive base salary
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a 3% 401(k) match
- Paid time off
- Real ownership of our brand’s online presence
- A respected, family-owned company with more than 50 years of serving the fire service
- Work that helps protect the people who protect our communities
If This Sounds Like You
If you want your content to have a real purpose and you’re excited to grow an audience around the trucks and equipment firefighters rely on, we’d love to hear from you.
