About this role
Position Summary... -----------------------
Slotting Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities – Non-Sort Slotting Operations
1. Profiling & Pick Path Optimization
Analyze historical sales, demand forecasts, and SKU velocity to optimize item placement across pick paths and storage zones. Identify opportunities to reduce associate travel time, equipment movement, replenishment touches, and unnecessary handling while maximizing throughput.
2. Cube Utilization & Storage Capacity Management
Monitor and optimize Cube Utilization Factors (CUF) across prime and reserve storage locations. Identify underutilized capacity, validate building cube accuracy, and develop solutions to improve storage efficiency while preventing artificial capacity constraints.
3.
Slot Consolidation & Capacity Recovery
Develop, prioritize, and track consolidation initiatives targeting low-CUF prime and reserve locations. Partner with site leadership to establish execution plans, labor requirements, and measurable capacity recovery targets to maximize existing building space.
4. Storage Zone Planning & Optimization
Evaluate SKU distribution, inventory volume, and flow path demand to determine optimal storage zone layouts. Recommend expansion, contraction, or realignment of storage zones to support operational efficiency, prevent overflow, and minimize extended pick paths.
5. Aged Inventory & Overstock Management
Monitor slow-moving, aged, and excess inventory occupying valuable storage locations. Partner with Merchandising, Inventory, and site teams to develop inventory reduction strategies, improve prime availability, and reduce unnecessary storage consumption.
6. Item Attributes, Slot Maps & Capacity Data Accuracy
Validate item FTS attributes, including dimensions, weight, and cube, to support accurate slotting decisions. Audit Atlas slot maps, storage locations, and capacity reporting to identify discrepancies and ensure physical building layouts align with system data.
7. Peak & Sales Event Capacity Planning
Analyze historical peak performance, projected inventory growth, and anticipated flow path volumes to develop proactive slotting and capacity strategies. Identify storage constraints, optimize promotional SKU placement, and partner with sites to execute readiness plans ahead of volume surges.
8.
Data Analytics, Reporting & Process Improvement
Develop and maintain operational reporting to track CUF, slot availability, consolidation progress, inventory health, and site execution. Leverage data and automation tools to identify trends, highlight risks, and provide actionable recommendations to site and network leadership.
9.
Cross-Functional Execution & Change Management
Partner with FC leadership, Inbound, Outbound, ICQA, Engineering, and Inventory teams to implement slotting and capacity initiatives. Drive execution accountability, monitor progress against established targets, and support sustainable process improvements across the Non-Sort network. What you'll do...
