Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Smile CDR Administrator / Platform Engineer to provide platform administration, configuration, support, and operational leadership for an enterprise healthcare interoperability platform.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Smile CDR / Smile Digital Health, HL7 FHIR, REST APIs, SMART on FHIR, and healthcare interoperability. This role will support platform environments, troubleshoot integration issues, manage APIs and configurations, and ensure reliable production operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and configure Smile CDR environments across Development, Test, and Production.
• Manage Smile CDR modules, partitions, repositories, channels, security, and API configurations.
• Support FHIR R4 repositories, SMART on FHIR, and healthcare interoperability implementations.
• Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and capacity.
• Troubleshoot platform, API, data ingestion, and integration issues.
• Configure and support REST APIs and integration endpoints.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and business teams on interoperability initiatives.
• Support healthcare interoperability programs, including CMS-related initiatives, Prior Authorization, Patient Access, Provider Access, and Payer-to-Payer.
• Implement security controls, access management, audit logging, and compliance requirements.
• Create operational runbooks, deployment procedures, and platform standards.
• Coordinate with vendor support teams when required.
• Provide production support and participate in incident resolution.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of healthcare interoperability experience.
• 3+ years of Smile CDR administration or support experience.
• Strong knowledge of HL7 FHIR / FHIR R4.
• Experience with REST APIs and API integrations.
• Knowledge of SMART on FHIR.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0.
• Strong understanding of JSON/XML.
• Experience supporting production healthcare platforms.
• Strong SQL and database fundamentals.
• Experience with Linux and scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CMS Interoperability mandates.
• Experience with Axway API Gateway.
• Knowledge of Apache Camel.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Healthcare payer experience.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and GitLab pipelines.
• Experience with healthcare data exchange and interoperability platforms.

This is a remote contract opportunity. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as a US Citizen and must be available to complete a Glider assessment as part of the hiring process.
