We are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to help architect and build the data platform and backend services for our healthcare SaaS solutions. This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring deep expertise in database and data architecture, cloud-native backend development, scalability, security, and healthcare interoperability.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with the ability to design secure, high-performance data architectures for large-scale, multi-tenant applications handling sensitive healthcare data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop scalable backend services and data platforms for multi-tenant SaaS applications.
  • Design and optimize relational and non-relational database architectures, data models, and storage strategies.
  • Build scalable data ingestion, integration, and processing capabilities for large and complex healthcare datasets.
  • Design cloud-native data architectures incorporating databases, data lakes/lakehouses, and distributed data platforms.
  • Develop APIs and integration capabilities supporting healthcare interoperability, including HL7 and FHIR.
  • Ensure appropriate architecture for security, encryption, access control, auditability, data governance, retention, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design for high availability, disaster recovery, performance, and scalability.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance while remaining hands-on with design and development.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering, Product, Security, Quality, and Regulatory teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant backend and data-platform development.
  • Deep experience designing and optimizing relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
  • Experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, Cosmos DB, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with modern data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, data lakes/lakehouses, and distributed data architectures.
  • Strong understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture, APIs, scalability, security, and data governance.
  • Experience designing systems that handle sensitive or regulated data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare software or regulated-industry experience.
  • Experience with HL7, FHIR, EHR/EMR integration, or healthcare interoperability.
  • Experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Kafka, Spark, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
