Position Summary
The Ivy at Davenport is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, provide skilled therapy services, and help residents achieve greater independence and quality of life.
The ideal candidate is committed to providing high-quality, resident-centered care and enjoys working collaboratively with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents to determine their functional abilities, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each resident's goals and clinical needs.
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services in accordance with the resident's plan of care.
- Help residents improve their ability to perform activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, eating, and other functional tasks.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional independence.
- Recommend and provide training in adaptive equipment and techniques when appropriate.
- Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Document evaluations, treatments, progress, and other required information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs, safety, adaptive techniques, and strategies for maintaining functional independence.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, facility, and professional standards and regulations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional treatment environment.
- Demonstrate respect, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with residents and coworkers.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Iowa, or eligibility for Iowa licensure.
- Current CPR certification, if required by facility policy.
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, senior living, rehabilitation, or geriatric care is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
