6+ month Contract - with continual extensions
Hybrid Schedule - 2-3 days per week onsite in Atlanta, GA
W2 position - C2C not available (unless own corporation)
Flexible pay rate - target is $60-70/hr W2 though paid weekly with health benefits available if needed during contract
Senior Software Engineer
Java | GCP | Mobile | React/Angular | AI-Assisted Development
Our client is building a next-generation unified selling platform that will power customer and associate experiences across mobile, checkout, self-service, and in-store selling channels. This greenfield initiative will eliminate technology silos, unlock new customer experiences, and serve as the foundation for future retail innovation.
This is an opportunity to join a highly visible, multi-year transformation effort and help define the architecture, platform, and engineering practices from the ground up.
What You'll Do
•Build scalable backend services using Java and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
•Develop mobile applications using Android Native and/or React Native
•Build user experiences using React and/or Angular
•Design reusable platform capabilities that support multiple selling channels
•Help define architecture, workflows, and engineering standards in an evolving environment
•Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools and agentic engineering workflows to accelerate delivery
What We're Looking For
•Strong experience building modern applications and distributed systems
•Expertise in Java backend development
•Experience with GCP and cloud-native architectures
•Mobile development experience with Android Native and/or React Native
•Experience with React and/or Angular
•Familiarity with AI-enabled development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Cloud Code, Cline, or similar
•Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where architecture and requirements are still being defined
•Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and ownership mindset
