Big Data Engineer

Overview

Join us as a Big Data Engineer and build dependable data solutions that help teams turn complex information into useful insights. You’ll develop and maintain data pipelines, support analytics and business intelligence, and work across public cloud and database technologies. This role suits a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving data challenges and collaborating in an Agile environment.

Duties

• Develop and maintain ETL (extract, transform, load) pipelines and data management integrations using tools such as Informatica, Talend, and Python.
• Build and support big data systems with Hadoop, Apache Hive, and Spark; work with AWS, Azure Data Lake, and other public cloud services.
• Design data models, dimensional models, data warehouses, and database structures across SQL databases, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud databases.
• Manage SQL queries and data access; connect systems through RESTful application programming interfaces (APIs) and linked data.
• Partner with analytics teams using Looker and other business intelligence tools; contribute to model training and data warehouse design.

Requirements

• Experience in data engineering, software development, big data, data warehousing, ETL pipeline development, and data modeling.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Java, Python, and at least one of Bash (Unix shell), shell scripting, or VBA.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Apache Hive, AWS, Azure Data Lake, and public cloud environments.
• Understanding of database design, query management, data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and data management integration.
• Strong analysis skills and ability to collaborate in Agile teams; experience with Informatica, Talend, Looker, linked data, or model training is preferred.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
