Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (PRN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this flexible, as-needed role, you will provide expert occupational therapy services across various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health, and schools.
Your primary focus will be to enhance patient independence and quality of life through tailored treatment plans, assessments, and therapeutic interventions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse populations, including individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, and those recovering from acute or post-acute care episodes.
Your expertise will help facilitate optimal functional outcomes and support seamless discharge planning.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with evidence-based practices and patient goals
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility strategies
- Support discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide specialized interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and disabilities
- Document clinical findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) and maintain detailed medical documentation
- Educate patients and their families on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment use, and home modifications to promote independence
- Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, case managers, educators, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in case management activities to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Support early intervention programs for pediatric clients and provide occupational therapy in school settings when required
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical assessment techniques in occupational therapy
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and neurodevelopmental conditions
- Skilled in developing treatment plans tailored to pediatric populations, geriatrics, and adult patients in various settings such as inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, or home health
- Proficiency in implementing occupational therapy programs that improve functional independence across diverse populations
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide discharge planning support effectively
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management and clinical documentation standards
- Excellent client communication skills to educate patients and collaborate within interprofessional teams
- Knowledge of medical documentation requirements and adherence to evidence-based practice guidelines
- Experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs in school environments is a plus
- Understanding of occupational health principles related to workplace safety and injury prevention
- Compassionate approach when working with individuals experiencing disabilities or neurodevelopmental challenges

Pay: From $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 5.0 per week
