Role Description

The Technical Project Manager, Software is a full-time, on-site role based in El Segundo, CA. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering complex software projects that support advanced space and defense systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing project timelines and milestones, organizing cross-functional engineering efforts, and ensuring requirements are well-defined and tracked through implementation.

The position involves collaborating with software, systems, and hardware teams; facilitating technical discussions; identifying and mitigating project risks; and communicating status updates to leadership and stakeholders. The Technical Project Manager will also support process improvement, documentation, and adherence to quality and security standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading technical software projects from concept through delivery, preferably in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong skills in project planning, scheduling, and risk management using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar project management platforms.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Scrum, or similar), with the ability to coordinate work across software, systems, and test engineering teams.
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear project plans, deliverables, and documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting project status and tradeoffs to leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) are a plus.
  • Experience working with defense, national security, or space systems and familiarity with associated security, compliance, or regulatory requirements is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work on-site in El Segundo, CA, in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
