About this role
Step into a vital role supporting K-12 students’ success in highly regarded educational settings. As a contract Occupational Therapist, you’ll help students build critical skills in a full-time, on-site capacity, working within a flexible workload model designed to support both learners and clinicians.
This opportunity offers a chance to use your expertise to perform motor screenings, comprehensive OT evaluations, and provide both direct and consultative therapy in a collaborative school environment.
Key Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
- School-based occupational therapy experience required; experience in North Carolina schools highly preferred
- Strong proficiency with ECATS, IEP development and documentation
- Post-graduate OT degree (Master’s degree strongly preferred)
- Ability to obtain NPI number and register with NC Tracks prior to start
- Background screening required (DCDEE fingerprinting, district background check)
- High proficiency with school-based OT standardized assessments, including Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct motor and OT-specific evaluations aligned with students’ educational needs and state standards
- Interpret assessment data to create targeted, meaningful interventions
- Collaborate with faculty, special educators, and families to create and implement IEPs
- Deliver skilled therapy sessions and document services per school and district requirements
- Contribute to monthly workload reassessment and caseload management under a data-driven model
- Serve multiple campuses (elementary, middle, high) on the western side of the district
Position Highlights
- On-site role; not offered as virtual/remote
- Full-time schedule—typically 37.5 to 40 hours weekly
- Opportunity to work year-round on a school calendar
