Job Overview

As an RN CVICU (Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit), you’ll deliver focused care to patients with serious cardiac and critical-care needs. You’ll assess changing conditions, coordinate treatment with the care team, and support patients and families through complex hospital stays.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, monitor vital signs and telemetry, and document findings in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Administer medications and IV infusions; provide catheter care, airway support, and ventilator monitoring within your scope and facility protocols.
• Respond to emergencies using critical-care procedures, infection-control practices, and basic life support (BLS).
• Coordinate diagnostic evaluation, cardiac catheterization care, pain management, and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues while protecting privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Experience

• Required: Registered Nurse licensure and critical care or intensive care unit (ICU) experience; acute-care or hospital experience is strongly relevant.
• Preferred: Cardiovascular ICU, telemetry, emergency room, trauma-center, or critical-care transport experience.
• Demonstrated patient assessment, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and medical documentation skills.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR (electronic medical record) systems, anatomy and physiology, and cardiac care is valued.
• Additional nursing experience in dialysis, long-term care, hospice, pediatrics, or other settings may be relevant; these are not substitutes for required critical-care qualifications.

Pay: $70.00 - $72.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
