The DevOps, SRE & Platform Operations Intern will support system reliability, automation, observability, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation initiatives while delivering measurable operational improvements.
Responsibilities
Analyze operational workflows, infrastructure and platform metrics, and service health signals to identify automation and reliability improvement opportunities Develop and test scripts, tools, dashboards, or workflows that reduce manual effort and improve operational visibility in a controlled environment Contribute to monitoring, observability, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, database operations, or developer self-service initiatives based on the selected project scope Document the solution through architecture guidance, operational processes, runbooks, test evidence, and a knowledge-transfer package that enables future use and extension Present the business problem, technical approach, results, operational impact, lessons learned, and recommended next steps to engineering and leadership audiences Demonstrate our Sephora values: Passion, Innovation, Expertise, Balance, Respect, Teamwork, and Initiative
Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, or Bash Foundational understanding of Linux, networking, APIs, Git source control, and cloud computing concepts Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and translate a broad problem into a practical project plan Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical work and explain outcomes to technical and leadership audiences Exposure through coursework, projects, or internships to cloud platforms, containers, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, observability, platform engineering, reliability engineering, or distributed systems Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS Docker and Kubernetes Terraform and infrastructure automation GitHub Actions or Jenkins Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or Datadog Graduating in 2027 or 2028 (undergraduate or graduate degree) Must permanently reside and work in the U.S
