Systems Engineer

Robert Half is partnering with a super stable organization to identify a Systems Engineer who enjoys working on traditional enterprise infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience supporting physical servers, storage systems, virtualization, backups, and datacenter operations. This FTE position is full time with benefits in the Orange County area.

What You'll Be Doing

• Administer and support HPE server infrastructure, including ProLiant, BladeSystem, and Synergy environments.
• Manage enterprise storage platforms such as HPE Nimble, MSA, and SAN technologies.
• Support VMware virtualization, Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Perform hardware upgrades, firmware updates, capacity planning, and infrastructure maintenance.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and storage utilization.
• Troubleshoot server, storage, networking, and operating system issues.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT leadership on infrastructure improvements and modernization projects.
• Maintain documentation, configurations, and operational procedures.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with HPE servers and storage platforms.
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere environments.
• Solid Windows Server administration experience.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise backup solutions.
• Experience working in on-premises datacenter environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot across servers, storage, virtualization, and networking.
• Local Travel between local Orange County sites as needed.

Nice to Have

• HPE Synergy experience.
• HPE Nimble Storage experience.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
• PowerShell scripting.
• Veeam or enterprise backup platforms.
