About this role
Space Avionics & IC Systems Engineer
$130,000 - $160,000 + Stock Options + Health Benefits + 401(k) + Technical Training & Development + Customer-Facing Role + Cutting-Edge Space/Defense Tech
On-site role in Plano, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth area)
Are you looking to take real ownership of next-generation integrated circuit (IC) products for space and defense applications, while continuing to develop your technical depth in a tight-knit, high-performing team?
On offer is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing semiconductor business where you’ll use your space systems and IC expertise to shape new product definitions, working closely with design, verification, test, and customers, with ongoing technical development in a hands-on, non-siloed environment.
This is a highly technical, customer-facing position within an innovative business designing radiation-hardened ICs for space systems. As a result of continued growth and new work, they are now looking to add to their Systems Engineering function.
In this role you will define and negotiate new product specifications, create and maintain customer-facing datasheets, and oversee specification compliance across IC design, verification, radiation effects, and production test teams. You will also meet directly with customers to capture requirements, build TAM and competitive analysis for go/no-go decisions, and develop initial reference designs and SPICE/system-level models.
This role would suit a technically strong IC engineer with real spacecraft / space systems exposure who wants to work closer to the customer, shape product roadmaps, and keep pushing their technical capability.
The Role:
*Define, maintain, and negotiate IC product specifications and architectural trade-offs
*Create customer-facing datasheets and manage spec compliance matrices across cross-functional teams
*Customer meetings: capture requirements, validate specs, and support early product adoption
*Market and technical analysis: TAM, competitive landscape, and go/no-go decision support
*Develop reference designs and SPICE/system-level models; identify patent opportunities
The Person:
*Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or closely related)
*Experience in space systems with integrated circuit knowledge
*Comfortable in technical customer meetings; able to translate feedback into product requirements
