About Prox
Prox is a fast-growing grocery savings startup that helps shoppers save money by comparing grocery prices across retailers in real time. We’re building the future of smart grocery shopping, and we’re looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team.
About the Role
This unpaid internship is designed for students and early-career engineers who want hands-on experience building consumer-facing products. You’ll work directly with the founder and see your work ship to real users.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to front-end and/or back-end development of our consumer platform
- Help design and implement new product features for web and mobile
- Support data integration projects and improve system performance
- Collaborate with the founder on technical problem-solving and product direction
- Gain exposure to modern dev tools and workflows used in fast-moving startups
What We’re Looking For
- Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks (React, React Native, Expo)
- Interest in backend technologies (APIs, databases, scraping tools)
- A problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn quickly
- Ability to commit 20–40 hours per week, flexible around school schedules
- Southern California location is a plus for optional in-person collaboration, but not required

Pay Range and Compensation
This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit may be available depending on your university’s requirements.
