Role: Avionics Systems Engineer Location: Melbourne, FL Work Arrangement: Onsite Job Description Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in avionics navigation systems engineering. Hands-on experience with GPS/GNSS-based navigation systems.

Experience with system modeling and simulation tools.
Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills. Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and validate GPS/GNSS-based navigation solutions for airborne systems.
- Develop navigation algorithms utilizing GPS, GNSS, INS, AHRS, IMU, air data, radio navigation sensors, and sensor-fusion techniques.
- Perform system requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and verification.
- Support architecture development for integrated avionics and navigation systems.
- Analyze navigation performance, integrity, continuity, availability, and accuracy requirements.
- Evaluate navigation system behavior in challenging RF environments, including jamming and spoofing conditions.
- Develop system-level test plans, procedures, and verification reports.
- Execute laboratory, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and flight-test activities.
- Support integration with Flight Management Systems (FMS), Multi-Mode Receivers (MMR), Terrain Awareness Systems, and Autopilot/Flight Director systems.
- Conduct failure modes analysis, safety assessments, and fault-tree analysis.
- Review and analyze customer and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, systems, verification, certification, and flight-test teams.
- Support FAA, EASA, and military certification activities.
- Participate in technical design reviews and customer presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with navigation products and avionics architectures.
- Experience with military navigation systems and anti-jam GPS technologies.
- Familiarity with Software Defined Radio (SDR) based GNSS testing.
- Experience with navigation sensor integration and certification programs.
- Knowledge of aircraft certification processes and regulatory guidance.
- Flight test or navigation system troubleshooting experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering discipline.
