Infiltrator Water Technologies is a market leader within the onsite wastewater treatment industry, Infiltrator manufactures a variety of revolutionary products and innovative, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional stone and pipe leachfield and concrete septic wastewater system components.
We sell our products through wholesale distribution across the United States and Canada for use on properties with onsite wastewater treatment systems.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Water Controls Product Manager (PM) will help drive Orenco Systems and Infiltrator Water Technology's industry leadership position in the Onsite Wastewater market by identifying and developing new alarm and control products that enhance the company wastewater systems and standalone alarm and control offerings.
The PM is the expert for the water controls product category with a complete understanding of the functional applications, value propositions and manages the category life-cycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and KRA (Key Result Areas):
> Safety/Culture
- Continuously maintains Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
- Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment for all employees.
> Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute market research projects to establish voice of the customer, segment the market, and target areas of innovation and growth to gain market share to become the industry leader
- Communicate the needs of the market with internal engineering/R&D team to develop innovative differentiated offerings that cause customers to choose our products
- Continuously review the cost position and margin returns for assigned products and work with manufacturing to ensure target costs positions and availability are maintained
- Provide formal and informal product training to sales associates and other stakeholders
- Develop and maintain detailed product plans for assigned products including target markets, value proposition, technical details and marcomm plans
- Be the expert in the product category to support field sales activities such as:
+ product demonstrations and promotions
+ product training including functional, installation and operational training
+ technical support for field issues
+ performance verification testing
- Attend industry trade shows where products are showcased to help convey value to tradeshow attendees and give presentations to ensure industry leadership
- Support the development of product documents and marketing assets
- Work closely with the internal sales, marketing, finance, government relations, technical services, engineering, and manufacturing teams on product launch plans to execute on the business strategy
- Product Quality Case Review - Coordinates the research of product quality issues received in the department and identifies issues.
- Prioritizes product cases that have been identified as design-related to bring to the joint Engineering/Manufacturing team
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support remotely or in the field for products they manage.
- Able to work in the field with customers and sales staff to provide training and support.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Marketing field or equivalent experience
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years' work experience preferably in one of the following areas, product management role, an advanced technical support or engineering role, or an advanced sales leadership role
- Knowledge and understanding of the onsite wastewater industry
- Knowledge and understanding of motor control and monitoring systems
- Ability to learn new products quickly
- Experience or understanding of regulated business environments
- Experience in a market driven product environment
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
- Proven track record of planning and prioritizing target-based business goals
- Must have experience working closely with customers in a technical environment
- Ability to be flexible and change priorities with little notice.
- Ability to use sound judgement and follow through in problem solving and decision making processes.
- Must be willing and able to travel approximately 10%-25% of work time. Must be able to comply with current travel regulations and guidelines of airlines and destination locations.
- Must be able to meet and maintain Orenco's approved driver criteria; a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, current insurance on personal vehicle, and meet company insurability requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily indoor office environment and may include limited time in production areas. Travel requirements may include operation of a motor vehicle, airplane travel, and overnight stays in temporary lodging. May require the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations.
Includes exposure to outside weather conditions and occasional exposure to dust, other outside elements, and wastewater that may require the proper use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves. ork to be done during manufacturing business hours, however this position may on occasion work outside business hours to support department and business needs. Occasionally long hours may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, legible handwriting, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen.
- Intermittent physical activity includes but is not limited to touching, holding, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders and below knees, low back bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, crawling, stooping, squatting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs and ladders.
- Unassisted light lifting and/or carrying of under 20 lbs. is required.
- May also include occasional unassisted lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs., lifting and/or carrying over 50 lbs. must be assisted.
- Operation of a motor vehicle and/or airplane travel may be required.
- Travel needs are determined by the department supervisory staff based on business need, required skill base, and assigned job tasks and responsibilities.
- Travel may require the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations.
