We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Software Engineer to join our team!

Description

This position is a development position on cleared program supporting a production product, and will work on a scrum team tasked with development and maintenance of the current and planned capabilities. Candidates applying for this position must be actively TS cleared, as well as be willing and able to work 2-3 days per week on-site in Herndon &/or Ashburn, Va.

Successful candidates for this position will have training (BS) in a science or technology related discipline, multiple years of experience in software engineering, and previous experience working within a team environment utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other agile software methodologies and processes.

The ideal candidate will also have be able to develop and maintain full stack components of the Customer's platform, leading Agile Scrum deliveries of secure cloud native containerized geospatial tools. They will execute Angular/TypeScript and back end API work (Java/Python), migrate legacy AngularJS components, integrate OGC compliant services (WMS/WFS/Tile Services), and optimize PostgreSQL/AWS/Red Hat Linux environments.

Required expertise in Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD pipeline design is expected. This role demands TS/SCI clearance active at onboarding, proven SAFe experience, and the ability to mentor junior engineers on security compliant development practices. JavaScript proficiency is required as the primary language in the full stack.

Requirements:

• Title: Software Engineer
• Level: Junior to Intermediate
• Education Minimums: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
• Must have active Top Secret Clearance
• Must have 3+ years of Javascript and Angular and AngularJS experience
• Minimum 3+ years of software development experience with Python
• Must be willing to work 3 days per week on-site (Ashburn and Herndon)

Required Skills:

• Minimum 3+ years of software development experience with Javascript and Angular and AngularJS including a major framework migration from AngularJS to Angular.
• Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum team.
• High level of JavaScript proficiency required.
• Required hands on experience with Docker and Kubernetes; design and operation of CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with OGC compliant services for WMS, WFS, Tile Services and PostgreSQL/PostGIS tuning.
• Experience deploying and operating within AWS and Red Hat Linux environments.
• Ability to obtain Security+ or DoD 8140 equivalent certification.
• Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
• Location: 70% Onsite, Herndon & Ashburn, VA

Desired Skills

• RxJS/observable expertise and AngularJS to Angular migration leadership.
• Back end API development Java or Python at scale.
• Experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
• Advanced PostgreSQL performance tuning and geospatial extensions.
• Contributions to open-source geospatial tooling or peer code review ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Agile project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab, Confluence, Crucible)

Security Clearance Required: Minimum Top Secret require to start

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
