Job description

About this role

At Nourishing Life Collective, we’re building a space where patients get the care they need in one place.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Physical Therapist with a specialty in pelvic floor and/or hypermobility/EDS
  • Active Oregon PT license and your own malpractice insurance (DPT not required)
  • 3+ years of clinical experience
  • Skilled and supportive in caring for patients in larger bodies, trans and gender-diverse patients, disabled patients, patients with chronic illness, and patients with trauma histories
  • Excited about running your own business as an independent contractor in a multidisciplinary clinic

THE LOGISTICS

  • Blocks: You reserve as many half-day blocks per week as you want. Morning blocks run 6am to 1:15pm. Afternoon blocks run 1:30 to 9pm. The fee is the same for either.
  • Your schedule: Within your block, you set your start and end time, visit length, breaks, and pacing.
  • Choosing a block: Pick from current availability. If your preferred block or room is full, join the waitlist and switch when it opens.
  • Your room: One PT-specific treatment room with space for exercises and basic weights and kettlebells.
  • Earnings: Your share starts at 45% of collected revenue and rises as your volume grows, reaching about 70% for our highest earners. Most providers landed around 65%. We’re happy to walk through the details when we talk.
  • What the clinic fee covers: Your room, EHR, billing, front desk and reception, laundry, and shared supplies, so the back end is handled and you can stay focused on patients.
  • Insurance: You choose which insurance panels you contract with. We ask all providers to work with Wellness Billing for contracting. Providers pay that cost, and we can front it. Most commercial plans can be in-network. We are not currently in-network with OHP CareOregon, and we are in the process of credentialing with Trillium. You can also see cash-pay patients.
  • Building your caseload: We are a new clinic and growing our presence. We will send internal referrals and support you where we can, and you are responsible for building your own caseload.
  • Independence: You run your own practice as an independent contractor. No one manages your calendar.
  • Leaving: We ask for 90 days’ notice when you vacate.
  • Location: 3115 NE Sandy Blvd, Suite 231, in The Bindery building.

ABOUT US

We bring naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and East Asian medicine, physical therapy, chiropractic care, nutrition, and group classes together under one roof. Patients often work with two to four providers to cover what they need. We are relational, unhurried, and fully present with our patients, and we support the full range of conditions, from acute issues to complex, chronic cases that need real time to untangle.

Our vision is to redefine health as a life well lived. Health isn’t the absence of illness, it’s the presence of a full life. Most patients arrive from a pathology-based system that treats their symptoms, and them, as isolated problems to fix.

Our clinic is rooted in the Chinese concept of Yang Sheng, which translates to “Nourishing Life,” the practice of cultivating health and vitality. We trust that the body is doing its best with what it has and knows how to move toward balance, but is often under-resourced.

Our role is to supply what’s missing, whether through lifestyle and nutrition, acupuncture, physical manipulation and movement, or targeted supplementation, drawing on each provider’s clinical expertise. We aim to create a multidisciplinary setting for whole-person care.

A common charting room lets providers collaborate and think through cases together, and we are building toward more formal collaboration to better serve patients and support provider growth. JOY AS PRACTICE Doing what you love, being with people you enjoy, and feeling supported is part of the job here.

Providers do what excites them, which includes what they treat in the room and can extend into teaching classes and leading groups. We also co-host classes and workshops with outside practitioners, and all of it is available as a resource for NLC patients. We plan seasonal provider gatherings outside the clinic too, because that closeness carries back into the provider room.

One person thriving supports the collective. The collective thriving supports the person. Patients feel this, and it shows up in their care.
