This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the hardware/software boundary and has a strong interest in systems, servers, and open-source operating systems like Linux and Free

deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the evaluation and qualification of new hardware systems (servers, components, and platforms)
  • Develop and maintain Bash and shell scripts for system bring-up, testing, and automation
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux and/or FreeBSD systems
  • Work closely with engineering teams to validate hardware/software compatibility
  • Perform system-level testing including CPU, memory, storage, and networking validation
  • Help build and maintain internal tools for automated testing and reporting
  • Troubleshoot system, networking, and performance issues across the stack
  • Document processes, test results, and system configurations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience in hardware validation, server architecture, infrastructure engineering, or HPC environments.
  • Understanding of server platforms, including CPUs, memory subsystems, storage architectures, and high-speed networking.
  • Strong Linux administration skills, including system deployment, performance tuning, and security hardening.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or equivalent languages.
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, data-path analysis, and traffic-generation principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex system-level issues involving hardware, firmware, OS, and drivers.
  • Exceptional documentation, communication, and cross-team

collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
  • Exposure to high-performance computing environments or enterprise infrastructure.
  • Understanding of server architecture, including CPU, memory, storage, and networking trade-offs.
  • Experience with remote server management tools (IPMI, BMC, Redfish).
  • Demonstrated interest in hardware projects (e.g., Raspberry Pi, custom PC builds, home labs).

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or expected graduation soon) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a relat

ed discipline

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, nationality, or protected

veteran status.
