Role Description
The Sr. Electronics Engineer – Aerospace Motors will lead the design, development, and optimization of electronic systems for electric propulsion motors used in advanced aerospace platforms. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Atlanta, GA, (we're also open to São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil) with flexibility for some work-from-home.
Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing circuit designs, performing detailed simulations and analyses, defining requirements for motor control electronics, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in mechanical, systems, and software engineering.
The engineer will plan and execute test and validation activities, troubleshoot performance issues, support certification and compliance efforts, and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and documentation. This position also involves mentoring other engineers, participating in design reviews, and supporting production ramp-up with a focus on quality, safety, and reliability.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electronic Engineering and Electronics, with proven experience in aerospace or high-reliability applications.
- Advanced Circuit Design skills for power electronics, motor drives, and control systems, including schematic creation and design optimization.
- Solid background in Electrical Engineering, including understanding of EMC/EMI, grounding, safety standards, and high-voltage systems.
- Experience in Testing of electronic assemblies and systems, including test planning, instrumentation, data analysis, and root-cause investigation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience with tools such as SPICE-based simulators, CAD/EDA platforms, and laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, power supplies).
- Knowledge of aerospace standards and certification processes for electrical and electronic systems is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document designs and test results thoroughly.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor colleagues, and manage priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
