Motorola Solutions is a global community focused on safety and security technologies. The R&D Intern - Wireless Systems Engineer will work with experts in wireless communications, helping to design, simulate, analyze, and implement solutions for RF environments.

Responsibilities

Algorithm and protocol design and parameterization for wireless systems projects Simulate and evaluate communication systems and signal-processing algorithms Hands-on work with Silvus radio products and Research & Development prototypes System testing and characterization, to include: Lab equipment for signal generation, channel emulation, spectrum analysis, etc Custom test utilities and data capture/analysis scripts Field test planning and execution Participate in the generation of technical documentation and presentations Opportunities to further engage, learn, and develop skills as projects progress

Qualifications: In-progress Bachelor's degree or in-progress Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field Basic understanding of Communication Transmission Methods Basic understanding of digital signal processing Exposure to Linear Algebra (Eigenvectors) Must be a U.S.

Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug testing MATLAB coding experience Understanding of Statistics and Probability applied to communication signal processing Understanding of Physical Layer Signal Processing including optimal detection Familiarity with OFDM and MIMO systems
