Director of Solutions Architect

A leading investment management firm is looking for a Director of Solutions Architecture to join their Boston team on a full-time basis, with 3 days onsite per week. This role will focus on designing and delivering secure, scalable enterprise technology solutions across a modern AWS cloud environment, with a strong emphasis on software development, data platforms, APIs, cloud architecture, and emerging AI/ML technologies.

This is a great opportunity for a senior architect who wants to have a real influence on enterprise technology strategy rather than simply operate within a single application or platform. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, architecture, and leadership teams to shape technology roadmaps, guide multiple squads, and take solutions from strategy through implementation.

The role offers exposure to large-scale cloud modernization, AI/ML initiatives, and complex technology challenges while giving you the opportunity to make architectural decisions that have a broad impact across the organization.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 15+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise technology solutions
• Proven experience leading solution architecture from strategy through implementation
• Strong software development experience across databases, data platforms, and APIs
• Experience designing secure, scalable cloud-native solutions
• Strong AWS experience, including cloud-native application development and deployment
• Experience with cloud architecture patterns, DevSecOps, and CI/CD automation
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, security, scalability, resiliency, and data architecture
• Experience with modernization and migration initiatives
• Ability to evaluate technical risks and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

Desired Skills & Experience

• Financial services or investment management experience
• Experience contributing to AI/ML strategies and technology roadmaps
• AWS Well-Architected Framework experience
• Experience working across multiple engineering squads and product teams
• Experience with data platforms and Data APIs in public cloud environments
• Strong understanding of modern application architecture and emerging technologies
