Job Summary As a Ground Systems Engineer, you support Millennium’s ground and mission control systems by designing and developing ground system approaches for new programs, as well as creating integration and test plans and procedures for software and mission-specific ground system hardware.

Working with software developers and customers, you deliver complete software and hardware solutions installed at both Millennium’s factory and customer-owned and operated sites for a variety of customers, including cloud-based applications. You also contribute to proposal development efforts to win new business. Throughout the contract lifecycle, you’re involved from the start through design reviews and up to launch day.

After launch, you sustain your systems for the life of the program, ensuring our products continue to deliver mission success.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead definition of requirements for ground hardware and software

Help manage customer relationships directly with trade studies, development and testing for meeting system’s mission requirements

Design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver large-scale mission control systems

Lead with other Millennium staff to support testing on components, subsystems, and spacecraft in test configurations

Develop plans and procedures to integrate Millennium software applications into government-furnished software and infrastructure

Oversee integrated system test events bridging Millennium-developed products and government-furnished systems

Designing the interfaces and implementation plans for mission data processing applications to support payload elements and our programs’ user segments

Support ground systems during on-orbit activities, including launch, early operations, on-orbit test, normal operations, and end-of-life operations

Support proposals for new ground systems in support of new business efforts

This position's internal job code is Systems Engineer 6K8C. Our team is hiring for levels 3/4.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

5 or more years' experience in satellite ground/spacecraft systems

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required) pre-start, (A U.S.

Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Master’s degree in engineering or STEM related field

Three (3) or more years' experience designing, developing and/or operating ground systems

Demonstrated understanding of validation/verification testing

Active clearance U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance

Summary Pay Range

Level 3: $111,000 - $165,000

Level 4: $132,250 - $202,000

Millennium is DDTC-registered, ITAR-compliant Company. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
