Job Description
Midland Sports Rehab and Active Orthopedics seeks a motivated, compassionate, goal-oriented Full-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our expanding multidisciplinary outpatient rehabilitation team.
As we continue to grow, we are excited to introduce Occupational Therapy as a new service within our clinic. We are looking for an OT who is passionate about orthopedic rehabilitation, upper-extremity injuries, sports medicine, and helping active individuals return to the activities they love.
This is a unique opportunity to help establish and grow our Occupational Therapy services while working alongside an experienced team of healthcare professionals. Under the leadership of our Director of Physical Therapy, you can contribute your clinical expertise, develop specialized treatment programs, and help shape the future of OT services within our practice.
We pride ourselves on a multidisciplinary approach to wellness. Our core treatment model integrates Physical Therapy and Chiropractic Care, supported by massage therapy, assisted stretching, acupuncture, and athletic training within our local Midland Public Schools.
Our mission is simple: improve physical health and quality of life through personalized, evidence-based rehabilitation.
If you are passionate about working with athletes, treating orthopedic injuries, restoring upper-extremity function, and helping expand rehabilitation services within an established clinic, we want to meet you!
Key Responsibilities
- Orthopedic & Upper-Extremity Rehabilitation: Evaluate and treat conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand, including sports injuries, fractures, repetitive strain conditions, and post-operative recovery.
- Sports Rehabilitation: Work with athletes of various ages and activity levels to restore strength, mobility, coordination, and functional performance, helping them safely return to sports and recreational activities.
- Patient Care: Evaluate patients and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans focused on restoring function, independence, and quality of life.
- Specialized Rehabilitation: Provide post-surgical rehabilitation, hand therapy, functional movement training, therapeutic interventions, and splinting or orthotic services as appropriate to clinical training and expertise.
- OT Service Development: Help establish and expand Occupational Therapy services by identifying patient needs, developing treatment programs, and collaborating with the Director of Physical Therapy on opportunities for clinical growth.
- Collaboration: Work alongside our Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Athletic Trainers, and wellness staff to provide coordinated, whole-person patient care.
- Community Impact: Represent the clinic at local events, including races, sporting events, and opportunities to support student-athletes within our local schools.
- Patient Education: Empower patients with the knowledge and tools needed for injury prevention, functional independence, and long-term recovery.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely clinical records to ensure high-quality care and compliance with professional standards.
What We're Looking For
- A licensed Occupational Therapist in Michigan, or eligible for licensure.
- A graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- A strong interest in orthopedic rehabilitation, upper-extremity injuries, and sports medicine.
- A passion for working with athletes, active individuals, and patients recovering from orthopedic injuries.
- A motivated clinician who is excited about helping establish and expand Occupational Therapy services.
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced outpatient environment.
- A professional who takes initiative, embraces professional growth, and is interested in long-term advancement within a growing clinic.
- An interest in pursuing advanced training in hand therapy, upper-extremity rehabilitation, or sports rehabilitation.
- A heart for the Midland community and a desire to be "more than just a clinician" to your patients.
New graduates are encouraged to apply! Experience in outpatient orthopedics, hand therapy, or sports rehabilitation is preferred but not required. We highly value advanced specialty certifications, such as Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
