Position Summary

Under close supervisor, the Business Intelligence Analyst I will be accountable for analyzing/designing SAP HANA & data warehousing domain architecture to meet the information technology and business requirements for the District. This individual will play a significant role in the definition and implementation of the application strategy, including architecture, design, and roadmaps.

The successful candidate will perform work that is small to medium complex tasks, varied in nature, and span multiple functional areas. The Business Intelligence Analyst I will serve as the Techno-Functional expert in SAP Analytics area and govern the use of these tools.

This individual will also ensure the optimum utilization of existing analytical tools such as Business Objects (BOBJ), Analysis for Office, SAC, Planning & Query Analyzer.

Education

  • Required - High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) with demonstrated significant related experience and relevant certifications may be considered. or
  • Required - Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; plus a minimum of two (2) years of work experience as indicated below. or
  • Required - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. or
  • Required - Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

Minimum Requirements

  • Required - Minimum of 2 years experience using UML modeling and competent with industry standard methodologies such as RUP; plus the Associate's Degree as indicated above. or
  • Required - Strong non-degree candidates with demonstrated significant related experience may be considered.
  • Preferred - Experience with portal, web and application server environments.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing

  • Required - Have and maintain a valid driver’s license Upon Hire

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to learn new solutions by investigating external resources.
  • Good knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying OSS notes
  • Ability to work periodic evenings and weekends for production support and implementations as needed
  • Knowledge at domain level and supports change management and business adoption of technologies.
  • Good understanding of the Business Requirements and ability to translate them to Solution Implementation and Deliverables, along with estimates for delivery.
  • Knowledge of tools available in SAP S/4Hana including SAP HANA CDS views, Analysis for Office, SAC, Fiori, BI / BW, Data Services. (Intermediate proficiency)
  • Skills are required in one or more of the following: JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, XML, XMLST, CSS, or Flash. (Entry proficiency)
  • Knowledge in programing techniques and frameworks is preferred (Entry proficiency)
  • Knowledge of XML, XML Schema, SOA and web service technologies is preferred. (Entry proficiency)
  • Knowledge of relational database design, data access, and programming is preferred. (Entry proficiency)
  • Familiarity with one or more technologies such as SAP, GIS, Java, Python or modern web technologies. (Entry proficiency)

Essential Functions

  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing SAP BW/BW4HANA data models, including InfoProviders (aDSOs, CompositeProviders) and queries.
  • Support creation and modification of SAP Business Warehouse (BW) queries using BEx / Query Designer for operational and analytical reporting.
  • Help design and maintain SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) stories, dashboards, and basic planning models under Sr. Business Intelligence Consultant guidance.
  • Validate report outputs by performing data reconciliation between source systems, Business Warehouse (BW), and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Support data extraction processes from SAP S/4HANA and Enterprise Core Component (ECC) into SAP Business Warehouse (BW) using standard extractors, Core Data Services (CDS) views, or DataSources
  • Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting data loads, process chains, and delta issues
  • Participate in basic data modeling activities, including master data, key figures, and hierarchies.
  • Work with business users to understand reporting requirements and translate them into queries or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) visualizations.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Business Warehouse (BW) and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) reports, including issue investigation and resolution.
  • Assist in preparing ad-hoc analyses and management reports.
  • Monitor scheduled Business Warehouse (BW) process chains and SAC data refreshes; escalate failures as needed.
  • Support transport activities across development, quality, and production systems
  • Maintain clear technical and functional documentation for Business Warehouse (BW) objects, data flows, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) stories.
  • Participate in unit testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) for Business Intelligence (BI) enhancements.
  • Adhere to development standards and best practices defined by the Business Intelligence (BI) team.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Business Intelligence Consultant, functional consultants, and IT teams.
  • Act within the spirit of District and Department values.
  • Fulfill responsibilities common to all Supervisory, Professional, and Administrative position as stated.
