KRATOS is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer who will support engineering activities to meet contractual requirements.

This full-time position requires effective collaboration within a team environment. The successful candidate will contribute to requirements development and management, system architecture documentation, interface definition, verification planning, and general SE lifecycle support.

We are also open to candidates transitioning from related disciplines into Systems Engineering, and for junior-level applicants, we are prepared to provide training and development to help them grow into the role. Excellent communications and interpersonal relationship skills are required as the candidate will be working closely with system developers, test, and support personnel.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Systems Engineering team in maintaining and managing software and system requirements
  • Work with software development and test teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined and verifiable
  • Provide requirements analysis to ensure proper traceability and support appropriate verification methods
  • Collaborate with program systems engineers, developers, and on-site support personnel to assist with system updates and help analyze and resolve system issues
  • Assist with development of CDRL/SDRLs
  • Support configuration management activities, including baseline updates and change control processes
  • Assist with development of customer presentations such as design reviews and status reports
  • Travel as necessary to attend conferences and customer meetings

Experience and Skills:* Junior-level candidates should have at least 3+ years of engineering experience, while mid-level candidates should have a minimum of 5+ years of experience

  • BA or BS in SE, CS, EE, ME, or other engineering equivalent
  • Experience working within the Defense and/or Aerospace industry, including familiarity with space systems and satellite ground systems
  • Understanding of aerospace design and verification processes, including requirements development, validation, and verification across conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases
  • Sense of ownership, urgency, and commitment to achieving results
  • Must either currently possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Domain knowledge of sensor systems and their associated ground software capabilities
  • Experience contributing to system level requirements, architecture development, and coordination with cross-discipline engineering teams
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (specifically AWS) and Kubernetes-enabled applications
  • Experience developing software application specifications and CONOPS definitions
  • Background in military space operations or support of DoD space programs

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education

Salary Range: $100,000-$160,000
