About the opportunity
Kinara Group is partnering with an established analytical instrumentation company to appoint a Product Manager for its spectrometry portfolio, based in Massachusetts. You'll own the strategy, roadmap, and commercial performance of a range of systems used across pharma, biotech, environmental, food, and industrial labs.
This role sits at the intersection of science, customer insight, and commercial strategy. The business has a strong installed base, a respected brand, and a clear ambition to grow its spectrometry offering through new products and smarter positioning.
What you'll be doing
- Owning the product strategy and roadmap for the spectrometry portfolio, from concept through launch and lifecycle management
- Gathering voice-of-customer insight from end users, sales, applications, and service teams to shape product requirements
- Working closely with R&D and engineering to translate market needs into clear specifications and priorities
- Leading product launches, including positioning, pricing, messaging, and sales enablement
- Analysing market trends, competitor activity, and portfolio performance to identify growth opportunities
- Supporting the commercial team on key opportunities, customer visits, trade shows, and conferences
What we're looking for
- Product management or product marketing experience within analytical instrumentation, ideally spectrometry (mass spectrometry, ICP-MS, optical or atomic spectroscopy, or similar)
- A scientific degree in chemistry, physics, or a related discipline; a PhD or hands-on lab background is a plus
- Strong understanding of how analytical labs work and what drives purchasing decisions
- Experience working cross-functionally with R&D, sales, applications, and marketing
- Commercially minded, with the ability to build a business case and defend priorities
- Clear communicator, comfortable presenting to customers, leadership, and technical teams
- Based in or able to relocate to Massachusetts, and willing to travel for customer visits, conferences, and internal meetings
What's on offer
- Ownership of a meaningful portfolio with real influence over product direction
- Close collaboration with R&D and senior commercial leadership
- Exposure to a broad range of markets and applications
- A clear path into senior product, portfolio, or marketing leadership
