About this role
Senior Account Executive – IT Staffing & Consulting
========================================================
- Remote, Twin Cities based
- Reports to company leadership
- Base + uncapped commission
- Start Q1 2027
You've closed staffing deals. You've sold projects. You know which one you'd rather sell depends on what the client actually needs.
Here, you don't have to pick. You get both — and a senior, local bench that makes clients come back for more.
We're Intertech. We've been building software and placing senior consultants in the Twin Cities since 1991. We're looking for a proven seller who wants to win new clients, grow them into long-term partners, and get paid well for it.
What's in it for you
- Two ways to win every account. Sell contract staffing, project and fixed-bid work. One relationship, more ways to grow it, more commission.
- Uncapped commission. Paid on gross margin. No ceiling, no games.
- A service that sells. Our consultants are senior and Minnesota-based. Clients treat them like partners, not resources. That makes your second deal easier than your first.
- Demand is already there. Every IT leader is trying to modernize old systems and figure out AI. Most are stuck. You'll walk in with people who've done it.
- No red tape. You report straight to company leadership. Need a pricing call or a delivery lead on a call? You'll get it today, not next quarter.
- Remote, local. Work from home, meet clients face to face across the metro.
What you'll sell
- IT staffing: contract, contract-to-hire. Senior, onshore talent — not a body shop.
- Project and fixed-bid consulting: custom software, legacy modernization, cloud, and full delivery teams.
- AI services: helping clients move AI from pilot to production, with real engineering behind it.
What you'll do
- Open doors with CIOs, IT directors, and hiring managers across the Twin Cities
- Win new clients through your network, outreach, referrals, and events
- Turn first deals into long-term accounts with multiple buyers and projects
- Own the full cycle: discovery, solution (with Tech asst), pricing, proposal, negotiation, close
- Team up with our recruiters to fill roles fast with the right people
- Partner with delivery leads to scope and price project work
- Keep your pipeline and forecast clean so you always know where you stand
What you bring
- 7+ years of B2B sales, mostly selling IT staffing or IT consulting
- A track record of winning new business and growing it — with numbers to back it up
- Experience selling both time-and-materials staffing and project/SOW work
- You're self-motivated. You build your own pipeline without being chased.
- You're solution-focused. You sell outcomes, not resumes.
- You live in the Twin Cities metro
Bonus points: an existing network of local IT leaders, and comfort talking with clients about AI.
Pay and benefits
- Base salary: $70,000 to $110,000 per year, based on experience
- Uncapped commission on gross margin from staffing and project work
- Benefits: Medical coverage that’s 70% of employee premiums and 50% of dependents, with a choice of three UnitedHealthcare HSA plans and an annual Intertech HSA contribution. Also dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance; short- and long-term disability fully paid by Intertech; a 401(k) match; and PTO.
Why Intertech
- 35 years in, still growing. We've served Fortune 500 companies, growing mid-size businesses, and government agencies since 1991.
- People stay here. 50+ state and national awards, including 20+ as a great place to work. Named one of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's Best Places to Work 15 times, a Star Tribune Top Workplace, and rated 4.9 on Glassdoor.
- Your voice matters. Small enough that leadership knows your name. Big enough to deliver what you sell.
- We give back. The Intertech Foundation has supported families with terminally ill children since 2003, and funds STEM scholarships for students heading into computer science.
