Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead

About the Position

Company is an established and growing property services company investing in proprietary technology to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and business scalability.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on software engineer to lead the initial development of our technology initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to take substantial ownership of software architecture, development, systems integration, and technical strategy.

The successful candidate will work directly with company leadership to assess existing systems, identify development opportunities, evaluate third-party technologies, and build scalable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing software applications, integrations, databases, and technical infrastructure.
• Develop and execute a practical software development roadmap.
• Assess opportunities to leverage existing commercial and open-source software rather than unnecessarily rebuilding functionality.
• Design, develop, and maintain proprietary applications, APIs, and backend services.
• Build and manage integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms.
• Develop database architectures supporting scalable business operations.
• Implement real-time data processing, automated workflows, and application integrations.
• Develop functional prototypes and production-ready software.
• Establish appropriate development environments, source control, testing, security, and deployment practices.
• Troubleshoot and improve existing software systems.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled development tools and automation.
• Recommend future technical staffing, development resources, and infrastructure investments as the company grows.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and modern backend development.
• Experience with React or comparable frontend frameworks.
• Advanced understanding of PostgreSQL, SQL, and relational database design.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party services.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Cloudflare, Google Cloud, or comparable services.
• Experience building and maintaining production applications.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, security, and data integrity.
• Proficiency with GitHub, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and deliver working solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building full-stack web applications.
• Familiarity with mobile application development or React Native.
• Experience with Supabase and real-time application technologies.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs and automation services.
• Familiarity with open-source software evaluation and customization.
• Experience with cloud-based SaaS applications.
• Experience working with small development teams or early-stage software products.
• Experience evaluating build-versus-buy technology decisions.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
