AWS Cloud Engineer

NC DHHS requires the services of a Senior CloudApplication Developer that will help us build robust, scalable cloudapplications and serverless systems across AWS and Azure. This role focuses onbackend development, AI/ML integration, and deploying cloud-native componentsincluding Lambda functions, cloud databases, smart communication workflows, andcontent delivery systems.

The key responsibilities for this position willinclude the following:

• Build and deployserverless applications using AWS Lambda.
• Design hybridcloud architectures integrating AWS and Azure services.
• Integrategenerative AI foundation models using Amazon Bedrock or SageMaker.
• Manage clouddatabases such as Amazon RDS and DynamoDB.
• Implement smartcustomer communication workflows via Amazon Connect.
• Configure AmazonS3 buckets and optimize global content delivery using CloudFront.
• Manage cloudsecurity, IAM roles, keys, secrets, and API gateways.

Skill Matrix:

• Hands-on cloud development experience (AWS preferred; Azure beneficial). Required 4 Years
• Proven track record/experience with AWS Lambda, RDS, S3, DynamoDB, and infrastructure-as-code patterns. Required 4 Years
• Experience implementing generative AI models via Bedrock or SageMaker. Required 4 Years
• Experience using Amazon Connect and CloudFront configurations. Required 3 Years
• Strong understanding of cloud identity management (IAM, Azure AD/Entra ID) Required 3 Years
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, SQL, or scalable backend languages Required 6 Years
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow complex and/or detailed technical procedures Required 7 Years
• Experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban, or Safe) development Required 3 Years
