Job description
About this role
Job Overview
As a Mechanical Engineer – Project Coordination, you’ll connect design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to move mechanical product development projects from planning through delivery. You’ll coordinate schedules, track design decisions, and help resolve technical issues while keeping project requirements clear.
Your impact
By aligning project plans with practical engineering and manufacturing needs, you help teams deliver reliable products and give stakeholders clear, timely information.
Duties
- Coordinate project scheduling, milestones, documentation, and cross-functional communication across engineering product development projects.
- Support mechanical design and machine design using computer-aided design (CAD) software, including 3D CAD modeling, SolidWorks, or Creo.
- Prepare and review mechanical drawings, mechanical detail drawings, schematics, and drafting packages; apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.
- Collaborate with manufacturing on design readiness, computer numerical control (CNC) considerations, and production issues; use root cause analysis to support resolution.
- Contribute to design engineering and mechanical product development, applying finite element analysis (FEA), building information modeling (BIM) tools, or applicable ASME codes and standards as project needs require.
Requirements
- Mechanical engineering knowledge and experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role; project management or project coordination experience is valuable.
- Experience with mechanical drafting, mechanical drawings, CAD, and 3D modeling for product design.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Arduino, or quantum engineering is relevant where applicable to the project.
- Ability to organize technical work, communicate across functions, and support manufacturing-focused problem solving.
- Experience with additional design, analysis, or prototyping tools is preferred; specific tools depend on project requirements.
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
Work Location: On the road
