Lead Designer, Basketball Footwear Color
Design to help shape seasonal color stories and footwear expressions across basketball product collections. This individual contributor role partners closely with Footwear Design, Apparel Design, Product Management, and Development teams to create compelling, trend-driven consumer experiences. The ideal candidate combines strong color design expertise, storytelling ability, trend awareness, and exceptional presentation skills.
You'll help bring seasonal concepts to life through color, graphics, materials, and visual narratives while collaborating across multiple teams and managing projects from concept through prototype review.
Responsibilities
- Create seasonal color stories and color direction for basketball footwear collections.
- Develop compelling design narratives informed by consumer insights and market trends.
- Collaborate with footwear and apparel design teams, product management, and development partners.
- Translate trend research into innovative color expressions and storytelling concepts.
- Create and review CADs, color applications, and presentation materials.
- Communicate design intent throughout the product creation process.
- Present concepts and creative direction to stakeholders and leadership.
- Manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Partner with development teams during prototype reviews and refinements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Footwear Design, Material Design, Textile Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of professional design experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of current and emerging fashion, sportswear, and streetwear trends.
- Expertise in color theory, textiles, graphics, print and pattern development.
- Strong sketching, illustration, CAD, and visual storytelling capabilities.
- Experience developing consumer-focused narratives and design concepts.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
