Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and adherence to aseptic technique.
• Prepare the OR, assist with positioning, instrument counts, and intraoperative monitoring.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and circulator team to ensure safe, efficient procedures.
• Review patient history and consent, educate as needed, and document intraoperative events and medications.
• Maintain sterile technique, ensure equipment readiness, and assist with patient transport and positioning as required.
• Complete accurate handoffs and post-anesthesia checks, and participate in continuous quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Active RN license with eligibility to practice in Massachusetts (MA license required at time of submission)
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS required
• Experience: 2+ years as an OR/ambulatory surgery RN; travel and trauma hospital experience preferred
• Education: Current RN qualification and license to practice
• Other: Able to work 8-hour day shifts on a 5x8 schedule; no on-call time guaranteed; flu vaccine required prior to start (no religious exemptions)
