Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients in labor and delivery or the assigned obstetric patient population in alignment with established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications as ordered, perform assessments, and assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Supervises and directs activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with physicians, midwives, and other disciplines while applying clinical judgment.
• Document care and patient progress in the medical record; ensure patient safety, privacy, and adherence to infection control and quality standards.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, neonatology, lactation, and social work as needed; support patient and family education and discharge planning.

Requirements

• Active California RN license
• BLS certification
• Experience in labor and delivery or obstetric settings is preferred
• Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in a high-acuity obstetric unit
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
