Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to geriatric patients across the acute care continuum, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
• Administer medications and therapies, document accurately, and communicate patient status to the care team; participate in rounds and timely discharge planning.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff; deliver patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatments, and post-discharge needs.
• Monitor for and respond to evolving conditions (cardiac, respiratory, or other emergencies); participate in Code Blue and other emergent situations.
• Maintain infection control practices, protect patient privacy, and ensure clear, concise, and legible documentation; support unit efficiency and appropriate charge capture.
• Support orientation and education of new staff; participate in unit meetings and maintain competency in department-specific skills and protocols.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BLS certification from an approved vendor per policy
• Epic electronic medical record experience
• At least one year of recent acute care RN experience
• Ability to work in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital environment and to support a 12-hour day shift schedule
