Senior Accountant

Tier 1 Auto Supplier seeks a Senior Accountant; responsible for performing general accounting functions including; financial reporting, accounts payable, general ledger transactions, and tax accounting & compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews A/P vouchers and other financial transactions;
• resolves problem transactions; prepares and records standard and adjusting journal transactions; and reconciles and analyzes balance sheet accounts.
• Contributes to preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis;
• Prepares audit schedules and responds to auditor requests for quarterly financial audits;
• Maintains fixed asset system and reporting
• Reviews P&L accounts and analyzes variances between actual results and expected results (monthly closing review)
• Supports preparation of various tax returns and government reports; tax provision for income tax accounting; and tax workpapers for income tax preparation by accounting firm
• Contributes to the budget process
• Participates on Physical Inventory Core Team and in bi-annual events
• Supports in providing work flow direction and functional guidance to Accounting team members to achieve high company and customer requirement performance results.
• Supports in coordinating the training / development of new Accounting team members, including back-up support.
• Supports continual improvement / stream-lining of business process initiatives and timely and effective disciplined problem solving

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Must have excellent communication (oral & written)
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be detail-oriented, responsive, and patient
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

• Ability to speak Japanese or Spanish
• CPA or CMA preferred
• Previous Automotive &/or International Accounting experience preferred
