Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical efforts to maintain and enhance Train Control and SCADA system infrastructure.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability of four critical Train Control System facilities and their supporting network infrastructure.
  • Administer and configure RedHat and Windows-based systems for high availability and security.
  • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls in support of a fault-tolerant communications network.
  • Plan and execute software and hardware upgrades for servers, workstations, and network equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor network security policies and practices.
  • Interface with internal and external technical specialists to resolve system issues and plan enhancements.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Support emergency technical response and rotating on-call responsibilities.
  • Assist with developing procedures and documentation to improve operational readiness and response.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience supporting SCADA or real-time control systems
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with RedHat and Windows systems administration
  • Experience configuring and maintaining routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Strong understanding of network security practices and protocols
  • Proven experience in full lifecycle management of hardware/software projects
  • Expertise in RedHat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP (preferred)
  • Experience with high-availability, fault-tolerant network design
  • Strong technical documentation and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working in 24/7 operational environments with on-call responsibilities
  • Familiarity with railroad operations, signaling, or transportation systems (preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred)
