General Motors develops automotive technologies and mapping solutions supporting advanced driver assistance and autonomous vehicle features. The AI/ML Engineering Intern will help solve complex mapping problems by developing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms, processing large-scale vehicle data, building cloud-based workflows, and evaluating solution performance.

Responsibilities

Build, deploy, and optimize models and algorithms using cloud-based compute environments such as Azure Databricks and Google Cloud Platform Develop scripts to manage data workflows using Python or PySpark Analyze large datasets to discover trends and patterns Present complex information using data visualization techniques Create and maintain technical documentation Complete training, learning, and skills development

Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Masters or PhD in computer science or a related field Python software skills and experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow Experience working with cloud environments and data platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and Google Cloud Platform Demonstratable fundamentals in statistical modeling and machine learning frameworks and tools Experience with geospatial data and analytics Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship Graduating between December 2027 and June 2028
