Senior Software Engineer – Autonomous Vehicle Integration

Focused Support is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with around 5 years of experience to join our growing team in our Utah office. We will also consider hiring in our Columbia, Maryland office.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Work within a team to design, develop, and test software applications which interface with autonomous vehicles of all types and related sensors
• Implement bi-directional vehicle control using MAVLink, STANAG-4586, and other open-source and proprietary messaging protocols
• Interface with a variety of autopilot implementations including PX4, Piccolo, and Ardupilot
• Interface with a variety of sensors including EO/IR, Lidar, SIGINT, etc.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and UX/UI team to design and develop intuitive user interfaces for complex multi-vehicle control scenarios within dynamically changing operational environments
• Support developmental and operational test and exercise events

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Experience with Ground Control Station (GCS) software and the customization of that software such as QGroundControl or Ardupilot
• Experience writing software for vehicle control using MAVLink and/or STANAG-4586
• Experience with related unmanned vehicle data feeds and protocols such as H.264/H.265 video, KLV metadata, STANAG-4586, etc.
• Experience interfacing with and controlling a variety of unmanned aerial vehicle types including fixed wing, multi-rotor, and VTOL fixed-wing
• Proficient in Javascript/Typescript
• Proficient in Java, C#, or C++
• Familiarity with a modern Javascript framework such as Angular or React
• FAA Part 107 certification or PPL is a plus
• Experience with TAK/ATAK development is a plus
• Flexibility to quickly adjust to the changing needs and priorities of a small, rapidly growing business
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
• 5+ years related experience in software development

Minimal travel may be required.

Pay: $155,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
