Job description
About this role
About The Role
The role owns the month-end close, general ledger integrity, and financial reporting for a fast-growing technology business, ensuring results are accurate, timely, and compliant with US GAAP.
As a key member of a lean finance team, the Accounting Manager partners with FP&A, engineering, and leadership on revenue recognition, audit readiness, and SOX controls — turning complex transactions into clean, defensible numbers that support decision-making at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in NetSuite, ensuring reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analyses are completed accurately within a 5-day close
- Prepare and review financial statements and SEC-ready supporting schedules, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting
- Design, document, and test internal controls under SOX, coordinating remediation with process owners and external auditors
- Manage external audit cycles end-to-end — PBC lists, walkthroughs, and resolution of identified findings
- Lead and develop a team of 2-3 accountants, setting priorities and reviewing deliverables for quality and accuracy
- Drive automation and process improvement across the close, leveraging NetSuite workflows, Excel/Google Sheets models, and AP/AR tooling (Bill.com, Ramp, or similar)
- Partner with FP&A and business leaders on accruals, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses supporting pricing, spend, and equity compensation decisions
What We Are Looking For
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 or public-company experience at a technology company
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718, plus hands-on SOX controls experience
- CPA (active or in progress) and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong systems fluency: NetSuite (or comparable ERP), advanced Excel, and comfort building and reviewing complex reconciliations
- Experience managing external audits and preparing audit-ready documentation
- Proven people leadership — coaching analysts and owning deliverables under tight close deadlines
- Bonus: SEC reporting exposure (10-K/10-Q), M&A or purchase accounting experience, or NetSuite SuiteFoundation certification
