Senior IT Manager / VP – Role Overview
The Senior IT Manager partners directly with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to drive IT strategic planning, strengthen technology governance, and ensure the successful delivery of enterprise IT initiatives. This leader brings deep enterprise technology expertise and a strong understanding of financial services, serving as a trusted advisor who can confidently represent the CIO when needed.
The role demands sharp judgment, operational discipline, and the ability to influence across a regulated financial environment.
Responsibilities
- IT Strategy Execution — Support the Head of IT in shaping, refining, and executing the organization’s IT strategy.
- Infrastructure Performance — Monitor availability, reliability, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure and support services to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Major Incident Leadership — Lead response and resolution for critical IT incidents, ensuring rapid communication, root‑cause analysis, and long‑term corrective actions.
- IT Financial Management — Oversee IT budgeting, technology investments, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and strategic value.
- Regulatory & Governance Alignment — Ensure IT policies, standards, and controls comply with evolving regulatory requirements (NYDFS, FFIEC) and industry frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Risk Management — Partner with Information Security and Operational Risk teams to identify, assess, and mitigate technology risks.
- Vendor & Auditor Coordination — Manage relationships with vendors, auditors, traders and Head Office technology teams.
- Executive Reporting — Deliver clear, concise IT updates and performance metrics to senior leadership.

Experience & Skills
- 10–15 years of IT experience within banking or regulated financial institutions.
- 4+ years in a formal IT leadership role.
- Banking Applications — Experience with Summit, Montran, Swift, Midas, Actimize.
- Governance & Compliance — Deep familiarity with COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001, NYDFS, FFIEC.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in the CIO’s absence.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills for executive‑level presentations.
- Advanced Excel capabilities (analytics, reporting, data management).
- Proven experience in IT budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and resource planning.
Pay: $230,000.00 - $240,000.00 per year
