Role Overview
Counter is seeking a
Junior Graphic Designer
to join our Creative team and help bring the Counter brand to life across digital, social, email, print, and experiential touchpoints.
This is a hands-on role for an emerging designer who is excited to learn, collaborate, and contribute in a fast-moving startup environment. Working closely with the Art Director, Creative and Brand team, you’ll support the design and execution of campaigns, content, and day-to-day creative needs while developing a strong understanding of the Counter visual identity.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for beauty, fashion, and culture, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine interest in visual storytelling. We’re looking for someone who is excited not only about design, but also about
creating content, participating in shooting and editing, experimenting with video and motion, and finding new ways to tell the Counter story visually.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing creative assets across
email, social, web, paid media, digital marketing, and print
, working under the direction of the Art Director and VP of Brand Creative.
- Design and maintain
email campaigns and templates
, including promotional, editorial, product, and lifecycle communications.
- Create engaging
organic and paid social assets
, including static graphics, carousels, stories, GIFs, and short-form motion content.
- Support the development of campaign concepts and visual storytelling across multiple brand touchpoints.
- Adapt and resize campaign creative for different platforms and placements while maintaining a cohesive brand experience.
- Assist with website design needs, including asset preparation, cropping, formatting, and upload-ready files.
- Retouch, recolor, and optimize imagery for website, email, social, and other marketing channels.
- Support the Creative team with
photoshoot preparation and production
, including pulling references, organizing products, creating shot lists, and assisting on set when needed.
- Have an interest in
shooting and creating content
, with opportunities to contribute to product, lifestyle, social, and behind-the-scenes photography and video.
- Create and edit
video and motion assets
for social, email, paid media, and digital channels.
- Help maintain and organize creative assets within Brandfolder and other internal systems.
- Maintain and uphold Counter’s brand guidelines and visual standards across all work.
- Stay current on beauty, fashion, social, and cultural trends and bring fresh visual references and ideas to the team.
- Participate in creative, marketing, social, and commercial meetings and collaborate cross-functionally to understand upcoming needs and priorities.
- Take feedback well, ask questions, and continue developing design skills through hands-on work and collaboration with the Creative team.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2–3 years of professional graphic design experience
, ideally within beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful design, typography, layout, and visual storytelling across digital and print.
- Strong proficiency in
Adobe Creative Suite
, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Proficiency in
Figma
.
- Strong interest in
social media design and digital content creation
, with an understanding of how design translates across different platforms.
- Interest or experience in
motion graphics, animation, and video editing
. Experience with After Effects, Premiere Pro, or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience designing emails.
- A genuine interest in iPhone
photography and content production
, with an eagerness to learn and participate in social.
- Basic understanding of photo retouching and image preparation.
- Experience with packaging, print production, or file preparation is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Receptive to feedback and excited to learn from senior members of the Creative team.
- A strong eye for beauty, fashion, culture, and emerging visual trends.
