Software Engineer – Go (Golang)

Description:

Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking a Software Engineer – Go (Golang) to support a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) customer.

This program focuses on simplifying access across a portfolio of production applications by creating a unified platform with single sign-on, a shared user interface, and a standardized approach to application integration.

The Software Engineer will play an important role in maintaining and enhancing existing applications while supporting the transition to a more integrated platform. This position is ideal for a backend engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working with established codebases, and ensuring production systems remain reliable and secure.

• Application Sustainment & Engineering
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects in production applications built with Go (Golang), React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Develop, test, and implement software patches and enhancements in accordance with the customer's release schedule.
• Maintain and improve automated tests to protect existing application functionality.
• Analyze unfamiliar codebases and implement changes safely without disrupting production operations.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system runbooks.
• Participate in an on-call support rotation following onboarding.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of backend software engineering experience, including production development using Go (Golang) and SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance existing production applications.
• Experience working with unfamiliar or complex codebases and implementing changes safely.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon ECS or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud environments.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Eligibility for a Tier 5 background investigation.
• Work Location and Schedule Location: Hybrid.
• Reston, VA headquarters and approved remote locations within the United States, with on-site work at Government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland as required.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Eastern.

Development Schedule

Two-week sprints with a customer demonstration each sprint.

Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Security Requirement

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow an earlier start.
• Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience.
• This position is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated start in October 2026.
