Role Description
This is a full-time or part-time position, on-site Pediatric Occupational Therapist role based in Chicago, IL. The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will assess children’s fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and functional performance in home, school, and community contexts.
Daily responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, providing direct therapy sessions, documenting progress, and collaborating closely with caregivers, educators, and other CLS clinicians. The role involves participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to comprehensive care plans, and offering family education and home program recommendations.
The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will also support program development and maintain best practices in pediatric occupational therapy through ongoing professional learning.
Qualifications
- Clinical occupational therapy skills in pediatric assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for fine motor, gross motor, and sensory processing needs.
- Ability to design and deliver individualized, play-based therapy programs that support self-care, school readiness, and functional independence.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Effective documentation, time management, and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage a clinical caseload.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and culturally responsive, family-centered care.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Illinois Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility to obtain) and NBCOT certification.
- Experience in pediatric settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, or early intervention programs preferred.
- Comfort working with children with a range of developmental, learning, and behavioral needs, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and sensory processing differences.
