About this role

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The IT Manager is responsible for the leadership, reliability, security, and continuous improvement of Command Medical Products' information technology environment. This position provides strategic direction and hands-on management of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, business systems, end-user technology, external partners, and technology projects.

The IT Manager partners with Operations, Quality, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and senior leadership to ensure technology supports business growth, manufacturing operations, regulatory requirements, data security, and operational continuity.

The role operates at both the strategic and tactical levels, establishing the technology roadmap and governance structure while ensuring day-to-day technology needs and risks are effectively addressed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Strategy and Leadership

· Develop and maintain an IT strategy and technology roadmap aligned with company objectives, operational priorities, and growth plans.

· Establish priorities for infrastructure, cybersecurity, hardware, software, business applications, and technology investments.

· Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve productivity, scalability, security, data visibility, and operational efficiency.

· Develop annual operating and capital requirements and provide fact-based recommendations for technology investments.

· Establish and maintain IT policies, standards, processes, governance, and performance measures.

· Provide leadership with clear visibility to technology priorities, project status, risks, costs, and performance.

Cybersecurity and Information Security

· Own and continuously improve the company cybersecurity program and security roadmap.

· Establish and maintain security policies, access controls, technology safeguards, and secure configuration standards.

· Manage cybersecurity protections across endpoints, servers, networks, cloud applications, email, and remote-access environments.

· Maintain effective identity and access management practices, including multifactor authentication, role-based access, and timely access reviews.

· Coordinate vulnerability management, security monitoring, patching, threat protection, incident response, and corrective actions.

· Develop and maintain cybersecurity awareness, phishing prevention, and employee education programs.

· Assess security risks and recommend practical risk-reduction actions and investments.

· Partner with Quality and leadership on security expectations associated with customers, suppliers, regulatory requirements, and confidential information.

Infrastructure and Network Management

· Ensure reliable and secure operation of networks, servers, storage, endpoints, connectivity, wireless infrastructure, VPN, telecommunications, and related technology.

· Manage hardware and software lifecycle planning, standardization, upgrades, replacements, licensing, and capacity needs.

· Monitor infrastructure availability, performance, capacity, and security and ensure appropriate escalation for critical issues.

· Coordinate network, server, connectivity, and infrastructure projects across company locations.

· Maintain accurate architecture diagrams, system documentation, configuration records, inventories, and support procedures.

· Coordinate infrastructure support with external technology partners and managed-service providers.

Business Systems and ERP

· Serve as the primary IT owner and technology partner for critical enterprise applications and manufacturing-related systems.

· Support the reliability, administration, integration, and continuous improvement of Infor VISUAL ERP and related workflows.

· Partner with Operations, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to improve system utilization and reduce inefficient manual processes.

· Evaluate unused or underutilized capabilities and recommend improvements to workflows, reporting, controls, and data integrity.

· Coordinate application upgrades, testing, implementation, security, integrations, training, user support, and vendor relationships.

· Support manufacturing and engineering applications, including data collection and technical systems.

Microsoft 365 and Collaboration Technology

· Administer and optimize the Microsoft 365 environment, including appropriate security, access, licensing, administration, and governance.

· Support effective use of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and related collaboration tools.

· Establish governance for application deployment, employee access, information sharing, and retention in coordination with applicable business functions.

· Partner with leaders to improve digital workflows, collaboration, and secure information management.

Data Protection, Backup, and Business Continuity

· Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT disaster recovery and business continuity strategy.

· Ensure critical systems and company data are appropriately backed up, protected, monitored, and recoverable.

· Establish documented recovery objectives and restoration procedures for critical systems and applications.

· Conduct periodic backup restoration and disaster recovery testing and document results and corrective actions.

· Maintain documentation of critical applications, system dependencies, vendors, recovery processes, escalation paths, and business owners.

· Ensure continuity planning supports manufacturing and business operations during technology disruptions.

IT Support and Service Management

· Ensure employees receive responsive, professional, and effective technical support.

· Establish clear methods for logging, prioritizing, escalating, tracking, resolving, and communicating IT issues.

· Develop service expectations and practical performance measures for internal and outsourced support.

· Identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions that address root causes.

· Establish effective user onboarding, role changes, and offboarding processes in partnership with Human Resources and functional leaders.

· Ensure users receive appropriate equipment, applications, permissions, training, and security controls.

· Maintain standard work and support documentation for common technology processes.

Vendor and Managed-Service Provider Management

· Manage relationships with managed-service providers, software vendors, telecommunications providers, cybersecurity partners, and other technology suppliers.

· Define responsibilities, service levels, escalation requirements, deliverables, and performance expectations.

· Monitor vendor responsiveness, cost, security, quality, and contract performance.

· Review contracts, renewals, licensing, support agreements, and technology proposals.

· Recommend solutions based on business value, total cost, security, scalability, reliability, and supportability.

· Reduce unnecessary technology spend through standardization, contract management, and license optimization.

AI and Technology Governance

· Participate in the evaluation and responsible implementation of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation.

· Support governance standards for secure use of AI, cloud applications, and third-party technologies.

· Evaluate proposed applications for cybersecurity, data privacy, integration, supportability, cost, and business value before deployment.

· Partner with leadership to establish approved technology standards and controls over software and application installation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline preferred. An equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered.

· Seven or more years of progressive information technology experience preferred.

· Experience supporting IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, systems administration, end users, and business applications.

· Experience with ERP systems required; manufacturing ERP experience strongly preferred. Experience with Infor VISUAL is highly desirable.

· Experience administering and securing Microsoft 365 strongly preferred.

· Experience managing third-party technology providers, software vendors, and managed-service partners.

· Experience in manufacturing strongly preferred; experience in medical devices or another regulated industry is highly desirable.

· Strong knowledge of FDA and ISO 13485:2016 regulations and GMP Practices preferred

· Experience supporting a multi-site organization preferred.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

· Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange.

· Windows servers, endpoints, directory services, identity, and access management.

· Network infrastructure, wireless technology, firewalls, VPN, and network security.

· Endpoint protection, threat monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response.

· Backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

· ERP and business systems, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

· Cloud technologies, system integrations, and data management.

· Hardware, software, asset, license, and lifecycle management.

· System administration, documentation, monitoring, and service-management practices.

PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment and comply with applicable safety, quality, gowning, and access requirements.

· Ability to occasionally lift, move, install, or support computer and network equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Ability to respond to critical technology incidents outside normal business hours when necessary.

· Ability to travel between company locations and vendor sites as business needs require.
