Colors To Heaven Kids (COHK) is a pediatric therapy organization providing Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) to children with developmental, physical, sensory, and behavioral challenges throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. We are seeking a passionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist who enjoys working independently while collaborating with a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Position Summary
The Pediatric Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive evaluations, develops individualized treatment plans, delivers skilled occupational therapy services, monitors client progress, and collaborates with families and interdisciplinary providers. This position requires maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring services comply with Arizona DDD, AHCCCS, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pediatric occupational therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals based on evaluation findings.
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services in home, community, daycare, and other approved settings.
- Address sensory processing, fine motor development, visual-motor integration, self-care skills, feeding (if trained), handwriting, executive functioning, and activities of daily living.
- Complete timely evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, reassessments, discharge summaries, and all required clinical documentation.
- Maintain accurate documentation that meets Arizona DDD, AHCCCS, and payer requirements.
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as medically necessary.
- Educate parents, caregivers, and support staff on home exercise programs and therapeutic strategies.
- Communicate regularly with physicians, DDD Support Coordinators, case managers, schools, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and team meetings as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, agency policies, infection control standards, and professional ethics.
- Maintain productivity expectations and submit documentation within required timeframes.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and direction to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) in accordance with Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy regulations, including reviewing documentation, co-signing when required, and ensuring appropriate implementation of treatment plans.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with evidence-based pediatric occupational therapy practices through continuing education.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Arizona Occupational Therapist License in good standing.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain before start).
- Valid Arizona Driver's License.
- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required Arizona DDD provider clearances, including fingerprint clearance and background checks.
Preferred
- Minimum one year of pediatric occupational therapy experience.
- Experience with Arizona DDD, AHCCCS, HCBS, schools, or early intervention.
- Experience supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.
- Knowledge of sensory integration and pediatric developmental disorders.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
