About this role

About The Role

As a Senior Accountant in our Admin department, you will serve as a key member of the finance function, responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our financial records and reporting. You will oversee core accounting operations, guide month-end and year-end close processes, and support strategic decision-making with insightful financial analysis.

Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you will help maintain strong internal controls, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment while mentoring junior staff.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS, as relevant to the organization).
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring correctness, completeness, and alignment with supporting documentation.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and other core accounting functions, implementing best practices and process improvements.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing historical analysis, variance explanations, and recommendations to management.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits, coordinating closely with auditors to address questions and findings.
  • Monitor compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements, assisting with tax filings, statutory reporting, and related documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Admin and other departments to ensure accurate coding of expenses, proper cost allocations, and alignment with organizational policies.
  • Assist in the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of accounting and ERP systems, including testing, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects to support management decisions and organizational initiatives.
  • Coach and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Several years (typically 5+ years) of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience in a senior or lead accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP and/or IFRS) and familiarity with relevant tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing month-end and year-end close processes and preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis).
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends or discrepancies, and present clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, accounting policies, and best practices for process documentation and risk mitigation.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior accounting staff is an advantage.
