Position Summary
Chrome Hearts is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented
Packaging Designer
to develop and execute premium packaging systems across multiple product categories. This role is responsible for transforming creative concepts and established brand direction into production-ready packaging designs, artwork, and manufacturing files.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in packaging design, graphic design, and print production, with the ability to balance creative execution with technical accuracy. This role requires a designer who understands packaging structure, materials, finishes, production processes, and the importance of delivering elevated consumer experiences through thoughtful design and precise execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute packaging graphics across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging formats including cartons, labels, bottles, boxes, bags, gift packaging, displays, and promotional materials.
- Develop packaging layouts that maintain consistency across product lines, collections, and brand touchpoints.
- Create production-ready artwork, mechanicals, and print files for manufacturing.
- Prepare and manage packaging files including dielines, artwork revisions, copy updates, regulatory changes, and production modifications.
- Review vendor proofs, color samples, print tests, and production samples to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Creative, Product Development, Marketing, Retail, Production, and external vendors throughout the packaging development process.
- Research and specify materials, finishes, printing techniques, coatings, embossing, foil stamping, and specialty production methods.
- Translate creative direction into accurate, functional, and visually compelling packaging solutions.
- Maintain organized artwork files, version control, production documentation, and packaging specifications.
- Support packaging adaptations across multiple SKUs, sizes, colors, product extensions, and seasonal launches.
- Assist with press checks, production approvals, and troubleshooting packaging issues with vendors and manufacturers.
- Ensure all packaging aligns with established brand standards and maintains consistency across all consumer touchpoints.
- Manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and production requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in packaging design, graphic design, or production design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating packaging design, typography, brand execution, and production artwork.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Strong understanding of: Packaging dielines, Print production, Prepress requirements, Color management, Packaging manufacturing processes, Production workflows
- Experience preparing mechanical files and artwork for print production.
- Strong typography, layout, hierarchy, and visual communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and file management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, revisions, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing luxury, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or premium consumer packaging.
- Knowledge of specialty printing techniques including embossing, foil stamping, debossing, coatings, and textured finishes.
- Experience working with packaging vendors, printers, and manufacturers.
- Familiarity with packaging components, materials, and structural considerations.
- Experience adapting packaging systems across multiple SKUs and product categories.
- Understanding of retail environments, visual merchandising, and consumer product presentation.
- Experience with regulatory packaging requirements and compliance updates.
- Familiarity with sustainable packaging materials and production methods.

The pay range for this role is:
100,000.00 - 120,000.00 USD per year (Hollywood, CA)
