About this role
Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Child-Led Care | Sensory Gym & Private Rooms | Paid Treatment and Administrative Time
Chatterbox Pediatric Therapy — Pooler, Georgia
Help children build meaningful skills—and build a career with room to grow.
At Chatterbox, occupational therapy is about helping children participate in the everyday experiences that matter to them and their families. That might mean getting dressed with greater independence, joining a favorite activity, navigating sensory needs, or feeling more confident during meals and play.
We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist who brings curiosity, compassion, and creativity to that work. Experienced clinicians and new graduates are welcome.
A space that supports your clinical ideas
Our newly renovated clinic gives you options for movement, exploration, focused treatment, and individualized care.
You’ll have access to:
- A large sensory gym with a swing, slide, climbing wall, and crash pit
- Dedicated private treatment rooms
- Materials and equipment to support purposeful, play-based therapy
- Colleagues who welcome shared ideas and thoughtful problem-solving
We value our resources, but we also know that effective therapy begins with connection, clinical reasoning, and understanding each child’s strengths.
Practice with purpose—and with support
Our approach is child-led, neuroaffirming, play-based, and evidence-informed. We prioritize relationships, regulation, caregiver partnership, and functional progress that carries into everyday life.
You’ll work alongside speech-language pathologists and a team that also provides feeding services. As we rebuild our physical therapy program, we look forward to expanding those opportunities for connected care.
Our administrative team supports scheduling, billing, authorizations, and referral coordination so you have help with the systems surrounding patient care.
Chatterbox was founded in 2011 by Beth Fleming, M.S., CCC-SLP, a pediatric speech-language pathologist who has practiced since 2009. As CEO and Clinical & Executive Director, Beth remains involved in patient care and values the expertise each discipline brings.
For new graduates, support includes weekly mentorship during the initial 90 days, followed by monthly or as-needed guidance throughout the first year.
Your work beyond the session counts
Good pediatric therapy includes more than face-to-face treatment. Documentation, preparation, family communication, and collaboration all contribute to quality care.
Our compensation model pays separate rates for actual direct-care and administrative hours, including time spent on:
- Documentation and treatment planning
- Care coordination and team collaboration
- Caregiver communication and follow-up
- Session preparation and required administrative responsibilities
These are paid work responsibilities—not tasks we expect you to routinely finish on your own time.
Our full-time schedule is structured around a 40-hour workweek, with a baseline expectation of approximately 28 direct patient-care hours. The balance of the workweek supports the responsibilities surrounding treatment. Administrative hours are paid for actual work performed; they are not an automatic allocation.
Separate hourly rates apply
Direct clinical care pays $24.05–$28.30/hour for new graduates or $27.75–$32.65/hour for experienced OTs, depending on compensation phase and qualifications. Actual administrative work pays $18/hour, and designated onboarding training pays $15/hour. Lower clinical rates apply during the initial 90-day onboarding and credentialing phase.
Advancement depends on experience, demonstrated skills, and completion of required basic competency checks.
For a direct comparison to a Pay Per Session Rate, our compensation is equivalent to $42-$57 per direct clinical hour for experienced OTs and $38-$47 per direct clinical hour for new graduates who are under our mentorship program.
When comparing offers, consider both the clinical rate and how much of your actual workweek is compensated.
Room to shape your professional interests
We work with clinicians to identify opportunities that fit their strengths, interests, and professional goals.
Clinical opportunities may include:
- Outpatient pediatric therapy
- Georgia Babies Can’t Wait Early Intervention services
- Home and community-based care
- Telehealth when clinically appropriate
Interests in sensory processing, emotional regulation, feeding, executive functioning, fine motor development, self-care, and early intervention are welcome.
For natural-environment services, travel is accounted for in the workday.
A sustainable baseline, with opportunities to earn more
Some therapists prefer a steady baseline caseload. Others want additional clinical volume and earning potential.
Clinicians who consistently meet established productivity expectations may have opportunities to increase earnings through additional patient care, coordinated with clinic needs and scheduling.
Additional clinical volume is an opportunity—not the baseline expectation.
We want clinicians to provide excellent care, continue developing their skills, and maintain a meaningful life outside work.
W-2 employment and full-time benefits
Along with paid clinical and administrative work, eligible full-time team members receive:
- Three weeks of PTO
- Nine paid holidays
- One paid CEU day
- QSEHRA health reimbursement
- 401(k) with employer matching
- CEU and licensure reimbursement
- Liability insurance
- AFLAC supplemental options
- A provided Chromebook with IT support and cybersecurity protections
- Extensive online learning resources
- Ongoing mentorship and professional development
Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements and plan terms.
The clinician we hope to meet
You don’t need to have every answer. You do need to care about learning, communicating, and building trusting relationships.
You may feel at home here if you:
- Approach children and caregivers with empathy and respect
- Use creativity and clinical reasoning to solve problems
- Value functional participation and quality of life
- Welcome feedback and contribute your own perspective
- Follow through on responsibilities with honesty and accountability
- Celebrate progress that is meaningful to each family
Qualifications
- Licensed or license-eligible Occupational Therapist in Georgia
- Interest in working with children and caregivers
- Commitment to child-led, play-based, neuroaffirming care
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to keep learning and growing professionally
New graduates are encouraged to apply. We enjoy helping clinicians develop confidence and skills as they begin their careers.
